CESD Colloquium
Center for Ethics and Sustainable Development (CESD) is a non-governmental research organization that aims to contribute to sustainable development in Nigeria through research, advocacy and strategic communication.
At CESD we believe that sustainable infrastructure development is the foundation on which sustainable political and socio-economic development can be built. We have identified the existing infrastructure deficit in Nigeria and the pains of industry practitioners, regulatory and advisory bodies in the effort to bridge this gap. To this end we are organizing a Colloquium themed “Reshaping the Infrastructure Delivery Landscape for Sustainable Development in Nigeria” scheduled to take place in Lagos as follows:
Date: 22nd – 23rd November, 2016
Time: 8.30 am daily
Venue: Afe Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba, Lagos.
This interactive forum will bring together government and allied agencies, regulatory bodies, private sector organizations in infrastructure development, finance/investment, risk managers, utilities providers, sustainability experts, academia and civil society groups to analyze the social and adaptive factors responsible for Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit. We will be reviewing existing legal and regulatory frameworks and stakeholders’ engagement, as well as charting a road-map for sustainable infrastructure development in Nigeria that you can gain from.
Expected Outcomes include the following:
Charting a Roadmap and Action Plan for Sustainable Infrastructure development in Nigeria
Documenting an Integrated Co-created Policy Recommendation and Communiqué on key issues to Policy Makers and Executive arm of government
Production of an integrated and co-created Advocacy material for reform of legal and regulatory framework in infrastructure development
Preparation of a monitoring and evaluation template with which to benchmark infrastructure development activities going-forward.
Practitioners involved in infrastructure delivery – construction companies & their supply chain, urban planners, utilities providers, risk managers, Finance/investment companies, government and allied agencies, regulatory bodies, manufacturing industries, legal practitioners, sustainability professionals, academia, civil society groups and students in relevant disciplines.
